The TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines are designed for high levels of power with low fuel consumption while still being responsive and fun to drive.
TSI petrol engines feature impressive performance and efficiency. You benefit from maximum torque even at low engine speeds. The combination of low displacement with a turbocharger and direct fuel injection creates a very even transmission of power in these powertrains.
Whether reversing out of a busy parking lot or trying to squeeze into a tricky spot, an extra set of eyes are always handy. The Rear View Camera installed at the back of the car, displays a live picture on your screen that shows what’s behind you.
Coupled with parking sensors, reversing is now safer and easier.
Searching for your keys are now a thing of the past. You can start the engine of your Golf at the press of the starter button, while leaving your keys in your bag.
Proximity sensors detect your key within 1.5 metres of the car, meaning it can automatically unlock as you pull the door handle.
Keyless entry and start (KESSY). This feature comes standard across the Golf range.
Small gestures can achieve a lot in everyday life, but also when it comes to gesture control in your car. This function makes it even more convenient to operate the optional Discover Pro system (available on the Highline and R-Line).
It enables you to easily move around in the main menu and various submenus using a swipe gesture to switch pages. For example, with just a single hand movement, you can switch radio station.
A Golf at first glance, and boasting a striking, confident appearance like every generation of the Golf – from the newly designed headlights and bumpers and the dynamic radiator grille to the rear diffuser and expressive LED tail light cluster.
The interior of the new Golf invites you to sit down immediately and not get up again until you absolutely have to. This is thanks mainly to the generous proportions, which offer both front and rear occupants plenty of leg room.

The standard halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights offer a clear view, even in difficult lighting conditions.
Thanks to their headlight range control, which is also included as standard, the headlight range is adapted to suit various load levels.
To complete the iconic Golf look, there are a selection of stylish alloys available. Starting from 17 inch Dijon alloys on the Comfortline, 18 inch Durban alloys on the Highline and the R-Line with 18 inch Sebring alloys.
One of the Golfs new additions is the eye-catching Active Info Display available as an optional specification across the range.
Taking place of traditional instrumentation behind the steering wheel. This high-definition digital display uses a 12.3” screen with configurable views. Choose your view from navigation, infotainment, driver assistance and vehicle performance functions all right in front of your eyes.
Now standard across the Golf range is the 8 inch touchscreen colour display. This glass-covered display is high resolution and intuitively connects you to the infotainment system.
Also the Highline and R-Line feature the Discover Media Navigation system, meaning you will never be lost again.
The optional mobile phone interface is not only had a hands-free system, but also a wireless charging function. Simply place your phone in the multimedia console and charge away – easy!

You can do this thanks to three innovative technologies: Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and MirrorLink® interfaces.
The available Forward Collision Warning system (included in Front Assist) has sensors in the front to help monitor traffic and can alert you to a potential collision.
If a collision is imminent, Autonomous Emergency Braking (included in Front Assist) can help brake the car.
Side Assist provides assistance if you want to change lanes from speeds of 10 kmh upwards. Sensors in the rear of the vehicle monitor the traffic and should they detect any road users in your blind spot or vehicles approaching quickly from behind, the system will alert you via a warning light within the door mirror housing.
The available Rear Traffic Alert comes in handy when you’re backing up. It has sensors that can alert you to vehicles crossing in your path when in reverse and even brake for you if needed.
When moving, the available Lane Departure Warning (Lane Assist) can sense if you start to drift into another lane without using the turn signal.
On most models, Lane Assist will help steer to help keep you in the correct lane.
The available Parking Steering Assistant (Park Assist) can judge if a parking spot is big enough for your Volkswagen. Then it will help steer the vehicle into the space. You operate the accelerator, brake, and shifter; it does the rest.
The available Park Distance Control (Park Pilot) has sensors that can help you back out of or drive into a parking spot. Audible signals and the optical parking system on the display indicate how much space you have behind and, on some vehicles, in front of the vehicle when parking. If you get too close, an alert sounds as a warning.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) helps maintain a preset distance from the car in front of you. If the car in front of you speeds up or slows down, the sensors detect the change and your car follows suit. This feature is standard across the Golf range.
